Recently, I received the concept cover art for my April 2009 release from Liquid Silver Books, STARSTRUCK (a multicultural urban fantasy). My cover artist is Cris Griffin and her work was, as usual, amazing. It was exactly as I pictured it.

Although I got exactly what I wanted (an illustrated cover), having to decide between that or live models got me thinking: What do readers prefer? Or does it depend on the genre?
